OCPS Parent and Virtual Academies effectively links parents to vital district, school, and community resources during the school year. Both initiatives provide parents, families, students, staff, and community members an opportunity to learn how to support families in areas that related to student achievement, parenting and advocacy and personal growth/wellness.

Social Emotional Wellness and Health

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

Transitioning to Middle School, High School and Beyond

The transition to middle school, high school and beyond is a huge step and a huge adjustment for both students and parents. Students need the support and guidance of their parents during these important transitional periods. Students will have new opportunities and new challenges when they move to that next educational phase. This is also a transition time for parents!
