District 5 School Board member Kathleen “Kat” Gordon recently held Groundbreaking ceremonies for newly renovated elementary schools opening in August 2017 in her district. Oak Hill ES, Rock Lake ES, Ivey Lane ES, and Mollie Ray ES all held their ceremonies overlooking the new construction sites, allowing guests a small peek of what is in the works. Each school ceremony consisted of a welcome from the principal, remarks from Mrs. Gordon and school district representatives, a student performance, a project update, and a ceremonial groundbreaking with golden shovels.
